Veteran singer Bruce Springsteen says he wrote a song for Harry Potter movie franchise but makers never used it. Springsteen, 67, said the song was called I’ll Stand By You and had some personal significance, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“It was pretty good. It was a song that I wrote for my eldest son. It was a big ballad that was very uncharacteristic of something I’d sing myself, but it was something that I thought would have fit lovely.

“At some point, I’d like to get it into a children’s movie of some sort because it was a pretty lovely song,” he said.

The Guardian reports that the song might have been written in 1998, prior to the first Potter film being released. It is also speculated that author JK Rowling had a contract stipulation that prevented the use of commercial music in the Potter films.
