Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that federal government’s National Health Programme will benefit families across Pakistan.
He was addressing a ceremony in Rahim Yar Khan.
The Prime Minister announced the construction of 50 new hospitals in the country.
He said that the poor will get treatment at both private and public hospitals and if their medical bill is above Rs300,000 the government will help them.
He added that sometimes the poor are forced to sell their homes to pay off their debts.
The prime minister said that the citizens have to sell their properties for treatment of their illness. He added that national health program covers the treatment of all major diseases.
He added that the federal government understands the issues faced by the people and is working to resolve them.
He added that that poor people take loans for treatment but are unable to repay it.
PM Sharif went on to say that similar projects were initiated in the past but the commission was earned from it.
The premier said that such programs should be put on priority by the governments of the world. He added that politics should not be played on issues such as health.
