During the 10th meeting of the Senate Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) held in Islamabad, Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal has emphasised the need for evidence-based policy making to ensure maximum impact of public investment.
Ahsan Iqbal said, “The goal of the incumbent government is to transform the fields of development and economics into a leading think tank.”
“The PIDE should build linkages with international scholars and produce cutting-edge research for the country and region,” he added.
The meeting was briefed about different regional linkage projects including CPEC research centre of excellence, ECO regional trade to generate policy-relevant research.
