Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah Tuesday (today) announced the formation of a special investigation team to probe the 2007 Karsaz blasts targeting a rally welcoming former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto to Pakistan.

On his visit to Karsaz Martyrs’ Memorial on 9th anniversary of the tragedy, CM Sindh lamented that an investigation into the Oct 18, 2007 attack could not take place ‘properly’.

“This delay is because of the conspiracy under which the evidence of the incident was removed instantly – but it doesn’t mean that the investigation can not be made further. Yes, I will do it again as PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has issued instructions to me for this purpose,” he said.

Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah denied reports that Bilawal Bhutto had invited Dr Ishrat ul Ibad to join the party.

Replying to a question on accusations by Pak Sar Zameen Party (PSP) leader Mustufa Kamal on Monday, the CM said that Sindh Governor had been accused of many things, many times in the past as well. ‘People have owned him and disowned him, Governor is representative of the federation.’
