Shahbaz Taseer, son of slain Punjab governor Salman Taseer, has rebutted reports in the media that one of the six terrorists killed in an encounter in Sheikhupura was involved in his kidnapping.

Shahbaz Taseer took to twitter Monday (today) to respond to the ‘false’ media reports.

Earlier, media reports claimed Shahbaz Taseer’s alleged kidnapper and five other suspected militants were killed in an ‘encounter’ with a team of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) near Sheikhupura late on Saturday night.

According to CTD sources, the identified terror suspect, Haji Mohammad, was involved in the kidnapping of Shahbaz Taseer, son of slain Punjab governor Salman Taseer.

Two other terrorists were identified as Sajid and Riaz Hussain. Authorities meanwhile are working on identifying the rest of the terrorists killed in the encounter, the sources said.

Shahbaz Taseer was recovered on March 8, nearly five years after his abduction on August 26, 2011, from Lahore.
