Students from Karachi University (KU) who secured top positions in their respective specialised disciplines are still waiting to receive gold medals which they were due to receive soon after their convocation in April.
Several students criticised the university’s decision of not presenting the gold medals to students of specialised disciplines at the convocation and complained that they had been asking the administration about their medals for the past five months but had received no positive response.
The students complained that they were deprived of that opportunity to receive the medals on their convocation and alleged the university had sold off the medals for their own benefit.
The administration said that the respective deans had been asked to hold programmes at the faculty level for medal distribution.
Dean of faculty of social science Prof Moonis Ahmer while talking to a local newspaper said that only those students who were absent at the convocation couldn’t get medals in their department.
