TEVTA gives interest-free loans worth Rs288m to its pass outs to establish business

Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) has distributed Rs. 288 million interest-free loan to 5,400 TEVTA pass outs through Akhuwat.

The said scheme has been started on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif to help the poor TEVTA pass-outs to enable them to establish their own business or expand their existing business.

Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said this while addressing a meeting here at TEVTA Secretariat to review the progress of loan scheme.  Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmed Qureshi, TEVTA Officers Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, Amir Aziz, Mirza Umer Farooq, Mustafa Kamal Pasha, Maqsood Ahmed, Ayesha Qazi, Sarfraz Ahmed and others were also present at this occasion.

Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that 7000 TEVTA pass-outs applied to get financial assistance up to August, 2016. The cases of more than 1500 pass-outs are in process while 300 cases are ready for disbursement after observing the laid down criteria.

Chairperson TEVTA further said that loan amount ranges from Rs. 10,000 to 100,000 are being given to each candidate.  The said loan will provide them self-employment opportunities also.  The main focus of TEVTA is to provide financial help to those pass outs who intend to start their own business.
