Amid ongoing violence in Kashmir and pressure from Pakistan over false surgical strike claims, Vice-President of Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi has criticised Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on Thursday.

Gandhi while addressing a rally of farmers in Utter Pradesh said, “The Indian Prime Minister was carrying out politics over bloodshed.”

He further said that Modi was attempting to expand his tenure in the government by resorting to politics of hatred.

Analysts have welcomed Gandhi’s speech as a testimony to Narendra Modi’s anti-peace politics that did not jeopardise 19th Summit of SAARC that was to be held in Islamabad in November but also made Afghanistan follow its suit creating hurdles for Pakistan among other countries regarding reconciliation process.

Gandhi’s speech has come in the same month when under auspices of Modi administration, Indian DGMO claimed of carrying out surgical strike across Line of Control only to get refuting evidence by media cell of Pakistan Army and different news agencies across the globe.
