NEPRA scales down power tariff by Rs 2.56 per unit

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued notification for a reduction in power tariff by Rs 2.56 per unit for the month of August.

The government had issued directives to NEPRA two weeks before to slash power cost for the month of August. The reduction of cost of electricity has been made under the head of fuel adjustment.

Relief over Rs 20 billion will be provided to the consumers through electricity bills for the month of October.

The reduction in tariff will not be applicable to the consumers of K-Electric and the consumers consuming 300 units.
