The Indian claims of cross-border ‘surgical strikes’ are being taken with a pinch of salt even by the international media.
Leading US newspaper, The Washington Post, in an article on Sunday published interviews of locals living along the Line of Control. The majority of villagers in the three areas along the LoC said that they did not witness any cross-border movement of troops or hear the sound of any helicopters.

The residents of Bhimber, Chamb and Sahmani said that a heavy exchange of fire did take place, although no one said that “they had seen or heard anything that supported India’s claim that it carried out cross-border strikes on several staging areas for militant groups that left “double digits” of militants dead,” according to the article.
Another well-reputed publication, ‘The Diplomat’, in a piece titled ‘Is India Capable of a Surgical Strike in Pakistan Controlled Kashmir?’ raised some serious questions about the capabilities of the Indian military.
The article asks whether the Indian forces have the requisite capability for those much-hyped ‘surgical strikes’. The piece takes a critical look at India’s defence system, stating that the majority of the acquired warfare mechanisms and machinery are along the ‘Cold War’ lines.
It also blatantly states that most of the Indian machinery is in a ‘training and testing’ or rather an ‘infancy’ phase.
According to a BBC Urdu article, when the locals residing merely two kilometres away from Indian check-posts were inquired about the strikes they said: “What surgical strikes? That day there was just more than usual firing.”
It seems that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under exceeding pressure following the Uri attacks, made a face-saving move, which lacks the substance to make it convincing and credible.

Moreover, the Indian army’s muddled up and porous information also raised more doubts regarding the authenticity of such ‘strikes’.
Interestingly, Pakistan Army after firmly denying the claims of strikes also took independent journalists to the LoC at Baghsir, 20 kilometres from Bhimber to show the situation on the ground.
ISPR Director General Asim Saleem Bajwa stressed that while Pakistan has brought journalists to the LoC and is showing them the situation on the ground, India is not allowing the same access to its own people which is suspicious.

If it was just normal cross border firing, why has it caused so much of flurry on the Pakistan side, making the Pakistani establishment so jittery?
A surgical strike is typically very quiet, and the element of surprise is applied….very often leaving very little trace of any collaterall damamge except the need for body bags.
The American strike to capture Osama Bin Laden too left very little evidence of such an operation, encouraging the Pakistanis to deny such an operation even happened.
Bravo! Now the Indian army is also superior than the US army. If you really want to rub the pakistani army's nose in dust at least show the collateral damage which the US army left behind after it's raid. The evidence was there. I agree With you the way Pakistan went to UN was surprising. It gave credibility to the strike. A border incursion be it "surgical" or otherwise should be handled locally by whatever means at disposal. When a Lt. General announces a strike and his counterpart denies one of them is being economical With the truth. Sooner or later the truth will come out just like OBL killing! For whom will the bell next?
Your own policeman – Ghulam Akbar, the Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of the Mirpur Range, has admitted to the surgical strike and has revealed even the names of those Pakistani men killed in that strike. Unbelievable again right?
Excuse me boy, Are you fool enough to say there was no evidence left in Abbotabad? The Americans have abandoned tail of their stealth heli , which is widely available on you tube. The same was returned to Americans upon request, and off course when shared in detail with Chinese and Pakistani engineers. It's the international Media which has raised questions on the so called surgical strike, whereas Pakistan army has given access to more than 2 dozen media persons who physically went and surveyed the whole area.
Now, why Pakistan is carrying all those meetings, is because of the unusual circumstances, tension on the LOC and Indian atrocities in occupied Jammu & Kashmir. Head of state is holding meetings and chalking out plans, of what IF INDIA IN REAL DOES ANY SUCH ACTION BY CROSSING THE RED LINES, our response should be well ready in time, we should not waste time to hold meetings. These are preparatory meetings when borders are unusual. Since the Indian army is so ill trained , they lack basic SOP for war Zones. You Indians will always deny and make fake stories , since you all originate from Bollywood.Never the less truth will always remain truth, no matter what, but a united message on the face of India, if she even thinks of surgical strike (by world definition not India's ) she will bear the burnt of it in a more harder way.BTW a couple of your own politicians have questioned its authenticity as asking for proofs. One question, Ask you politicians to share photos, video or for that matter any evidence that can prove that it wasn't mare a face saving drama of terrorist Modi.
Even with the "evidence" left behind in Abbotabad, (and what is seen in Youtube) your government denied such a strike by the Americans….and they still deny that!
No country will reveal its methods and processes, since the action may be needed again. Its like keep a successful formula which is kept secret.
Are you talking about Kentuky Chicken formula or tactics?
