Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) once again has decided to appoint former Pakistani player Azhar Mahmood as team’s bowling coach.
The final decision about the salary and agreement would be taken by PCB Chief Shaharyar Khan.
The former all-rounder had also served the team in World Twenty20 and England series.
Azhar Mahmood debuted in Test cricket in 1997 but could only play 21 Tests for the national side. Similarly, he could only play 147 One-Day International (ODI) matches.
Despite being neglected at home, he played Indian Premier League (IPL) as a British citizen and also made his way into the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) as a supplementary player who finally got his chance in the league as an Islamabad United player when the Australian all-rounder Shane Watson got unfit.
The former player made 14 runs in 2 PSL matches and bagged one wicket.
In view of this ‘impressive’ performance, the officials at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have decided to make him bowling coach of the national side.
