Superstar Shaan Shahid lashed out at fellow Pakistani actors and actresses for not speaking up for Pakistan Army during the confrontation with India across the Line of Control.

In a Facebook post from his official page, Shaan labelled actors who worked in the Indian film industry as ‘one film wonders’ who did not speak in favour of Pakistani troops because they ‘want to hide under the money and little fame they made from India’.

“Finally the Indian stars have tweeted in support for Indian troops. It is shameful from the Pakistani actors to not show support for Pakistani troops,” Shan posted on his verified Facebook account.

“I assume the one film wonders want to hide under the money and little fame they made from India and do not want to jeopardise their relationship with their Indian godfathers,” he said.

“Welcome to the real world boys.

In a separate message a day earlier, Shaan paid tribute to troops for sacrificing their lives for the country.

“The brave protectors of Pakistan are fighting for one cause and one cause only to protect Pakistan.

“My prayers and support for Pakistani forces do not end with just words but my blood and my life I wish not only to stand behind them but stand with them till the end.

“Pakistan Zindabad. Pakistan Payindabad,” he added.

Recently, Shan who has often been criticised for harbouring anti-India sentiments has opened up on his take of being pro-Pakistan.

“I want to bring Pakistan out of all the negativity that is building around it,” the Waar actor told the BBC in a recent interview.  He further shared how his prime tool to reflect the positive side of the country was his camera.

“My tool is not business or arms, my tool is the camera. So, I don’t want to give up my camera to bring Pakistan up,” Shaan said.

As many of his fellow actors crossed the border in pursuit of greater success, Shaan chose to stay back and help revive the local film industry. “As a filmmaker, it was important for me to take Pakistan’s flag and bring it to the highest peak and not give up,” he said while talking to BBC.

Shaan further said that it was his binding on him to take Pakistani cinema global as he was a part of the industry.  On the work front, Shaan has been shooting for his upcoming films Arth 2 and Zarrar in London.

A host of Bollywood actors and actresses, including Amitabh Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon as well as others, tweeted in favour of the Indian army for conducting ‘surgical strikes’ against alleged terrorists in Pakistan.
