A woman in Lahore shaved off her sister-in-law’s head on Friday while gravely torturing her in Samanabad area.
Police have said that the victim Sanober’s husband lives abroad and she lives with her husband’s brother and sister Mehak.
Mehak held Sanober in undue detainment for six months and used to torture her on the behest of her brother.
Reacting to the situation, Sanober ran away from the house to save her life and reached the police station.
Police confirmed that torture marks were present on Sanober’s body.
“Torture marks including those of hot water have been found on Sanober’s body. Her head has also been shaved off,” said Samnabad’s Station House Officer (SHO) Sajjad Goraya.
“The victim has accused her sister-in-law Mehak of the torture,” he added.
In her statement, Sanober has revealed that her sister-in-law’s mental condition is not stable.
However; Mehak has pleaded her innocence in the matter.
Police have taken Mehak into custody and have sent Sanober for a medical checkup.
Investigating in various aspects of the case is underway.
