Former Punjab governor and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said the Raiwind march was not against democracy but it would be for accountability.
While addressing the media, former Punjab governor Sarwar said the people are angry due to poor performance of government.
He said democracy was strengthened by accountability. The real threat to democracy was posed by monarchical attitude and stubbornness of the rulers.
He said the government did not want rule of law but monarchical style rule.
The entire nation was united on national defence and standing by armed forces of Pakistan, he said and added sustainable peace could not be achieved without solution of Kashmir issue.
He said the oppression in Kashmir would need to be ended and peace would have to be carved out.
“We want opposition alliance to end this pessimism. We want free and transparent system where no one is above the law,” Sarwar added.
