Teachers play a significant and crucial role in a nation’s progress and prosperity as they dispel the darkness of ignorance and bring enlightenment, erudition and healthy revolution. The teacher is the one who builds the base of any nation; he is the one who trains, guides and transforms an immature mind into a mature and thriving one and apprises his or her students about the modern challenges and ventures of life while getting them ready to confront every new challenge and obstacle in their life with bravery and courage. It is undoubtedly true that if there are sincere, dedicated and determined teachers in any nation then no one can dare or even think to halt and snatch the triumph from that nation because selfless, committed and diligent teachers take the nation up to the sky by providing fully capable, industrious and self-reliant youth and that is the reason, in whole world teaching profession is considered a sacred and noble one.

Unfortunately, it is quite the lamentable situation that nowadays teachers have forsaken to perform their noble job and instead to deliver the job with sincerity and dedication they are pursuing to proliferate their earning by different resources. It is worth mentioning here that in our society we can still find numerous teachers and scholars who are humanity legends with noble soul, who are putting their best efforts with selfless dedication to spread the real essence and spirit of education but unfortunately there are many improvident and imprudent one who have hijacked the ideology and philosophy of education and they claim to be the guardians and devoted teachers but one must keep in mind that all these elements have nothing to do with education except achieving their own agendas and they pose real threat to the education as well.

It is high time for government to realise the gravity of situation and there is dire need to bring the real changes in hiring criteria of teachers. In this regard the prime job of government should be to re-evaluate the selection procedure as it must be transparent and as per the international standard. Then it is also matter of fact that teachers should be provided adequate incentives and privileges so that they exert all their efforts to yield standard education instead of pursuing coaching and private tuition. Teachers should realise that they are doing a consecrated job and it is reality that all other efforts of government to reform education in the country will down in the drain until and unless teachers don’t accomplish their real job with devotion and allegiance.
