Today’s White Lies

The prime minister is upset these days about our sputtering exports. Upset enough to let go of his mild-mannered cool once in a while.

He was heard telling the federal commerce minister, the portly Khurram Dastgir Khan, that if he were to pay as much attention to boosting our exports as he was to his food, we might even get somewhere.

What a case of the pot calling the kettle overweight.

The PTI is licking its wounds after Tahir-ul-Qadri’s PAT has famously left the former in the lurch regarding the march to Raiwind.

The PTI’s information apparatchik Shireen Mazari tweeted that Qadri was, in fact, Pakistan’s Gulen (the Turkish ideologue who allegedly inspired the recent failed coup in Turkey.)

Which was a bit too much on Mazari’s part. I mean who minds a casual stab in the back?
