A petition has been filed on Monday against the suspension of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rao Anwar in the Sindh High Court (SHC).

He was suspended on the orders of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on September 16 after he arrested Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmaker Khawaja Izharul Hassan.

Rao Anwar has termed his suspension ‘unlawful.’

He also requested the court to issue directives regarding his reinstatement on the post.

The Karachi police released Izharul Hasan hours after he was arrested from his house in Karachi.
