Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz rejected Indian accusations against Pakistan as a ‘blatant attempt’ to divert attention from the deteriorating situation in the valley following Sunday’s attack on Indian troops in held Kashmir.

He said that Kashmir was suffering due to Indian occupation.

Aziz said, “Pakistan has noted with serious concern the recent spate of vitriolic and unsubstantiated statements emanating from Indian civil and military leadership in the aftermath of yesterday’s attack on Indian occupation forces in the Uri sector of the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK)”.

“It needs to be understood that the situation in IOK is not of Pakistan’s making but a direct consequence of illegal Indian occupation and a long history of atrocities that has resulted in over a 100 deaths. More than 1000 injured during the recent episode of protest and ongoing curfew in the occupied territory over the past 73 days,” he added.

The adviser said, “A large number of youth have been blinded by the indiscriminate firing of pellet guns. Nobody has been spared the brute state force including the elderly, wounded patients in hospitals as women and children. This should awaken international conscience”.

“It was particularly deplorable that (an) Indian minister chose to blame Pakistan for the incident even prior to conducting a proper investigation. The statement is part of a pattern to mislead world opinion and cover up India’s reign of terror in IOK.”

  1. Pakistan needs India to focus on IoK issue
Pakistan is trying its best to find a solution to the Kashmir problem but other parties should also be as willing to find a solution. It is time that the Indian government paid heed to the bloodshed that its army is responsible for in the Held Valley.
It is time for peace, and time for the Modi government to give support to PM Nawaz Sharif's efforts for a peaceful resolution in Occupied Kashmir. Pakistan's PM seems determined to get peace for the Held Valley, PM Modi needs to do the same. https://www.geo.tv/latest/115097-Nawaz-urges-US-B
The Pakistan government is trying its best to show the world the wounds of people of Held Kashmir but India doesn't seem interested. https://www.geo.tv/latest/115143-Reaction-to-Indi
The people of Held Kashmir have been suffering for a long time. They should be given a chance to live their lives peacefully, and this can only happen when Pakistan and India support the peace process in the region.
