Court declares Musharraf ‘proclaimed offender’, orders confiscation of property

Islamabad District Court declared former president Pervez Musharraf a ‘proclaimed offender’ and ordered for confiscation of all his property in Ghazi Abdul Rashid and his mother’s murder case.

Ghazi Abdul Rashid and his mother’s murder case came up for hearing before the court of additional session judge Pervez Al Qadir Memon on Saturday.

The court declared Musharraf proclaimed offender due to his persistent absence from the court and ordered for confiscation of his property.

Wazir Ahmad, the guarantor of Musharraf appeared in the court while Jan Muhammad did not appear in the court being ill.

The district court had earlier summoned former president several times but he had not appeared before it on any occasion. The court also issued his arrest warrants several times.
