Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal said the federal government in coordination with provincial governments is working to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Addressing an event held in connection with health – a goal for sustainable development, he said the achievement of SDGs was a national agenda.
Pakistan, he said, was the first country which declared world’s goals for the sustainable development as targets for the national development.
The minister said Pakistan’s Parliament had unanimously adopted a resolution which demonstrated the determination and commitment in this regard.
He said seven pillars of Vision 2025 were connected with the SDGs. The federal government was working closely with the provincial governments for achievement of these goals, he added.
The minister said the provision of health facilities to every citizen was being ensured, adding that healthy citizens could help build a healthy society.
He said the government is working for ensuring better health facilities to the people without any discrimination.
