FIR lodged against FIA officers for allowing people to travel illegally

Authorities in Islamabad registered a case against as many as eight officials of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday on suspicion of being involved in human smuggling.

The FIA officials have been nominated in the FIR after three individuals who had travelled from Benazir International Airport, Islamabad to Libya were found to have been travelling on fake travel documents.

The investigation was started on the directives of FIA Director Mazhar Kakakhel after which eight officers were declared accused while three of them became witnesses.

A case against five personnel Inspector Zia-ul-Hassan, Azmat, Sub-inspector Qari Arshad, Sub-inspector Shabana and head constable Faisal has been lodged.

However, a case has also been registered against three FIA agents Kamran, Urdsher and Arsalan whereas a joint investigation team has also been formed for further inquiry.

Moreover, raids are underway to arrest absconders.
