TMA launches grand anti-encroachment operation

Tehsil Municipal Authority (TMA), Rawal Town, under the directives of Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi Bench, has launched a grand anti-encroachment operation to remove temporary and permanent encroachments from all city areas.

TMA Tehsil Officer Regulation (TOR) Shahzad Gohar said that encroachments have been removed from Commercial Market, Iqbal Road, Trunk Bazar, Bara Market, Talwara Bazar, Raja Bazar and Liaquat Road while five truckloads goods of the encroachers were confiscated.

The operation, under the supervision of City Assistant Commissioner (AC) Khalid Goria, is being conducted in city areas aimed at providing relief to the citizens visiting the markets. The clean-up operation against encroachments was underway in city areas and it has further been accelerated and permanent and temporary encroachments would be removed.

The city markets would be regularly visited and the staff concerned would conduct raids at main markets, he said.

The vendors who would be found selling their products while displaying on footpaths and different roads would be imposed fines with warnings, he added.

He said, no one would be spared and cases would also be registered against the encroachers.
