5.1 magnitude earthquake jolts parts of China, Pakistan

An Earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted parts of China and Pakistan early on Wednesday (today).

Tremors were felt in Islamabad and adjoining areas.

According to the Met Department, the earthquake measured 5.1 on the Richter scale and while the focal depth was 10 kilometres, its epicenter was China’s Sichuan area.

Following tremors, many evacuated their homes and buildings amid fears of further shocks. No loss of life or damage to property has been reported yet.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), an earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale jolted parts of Quetta late last night.

Strong tremors were felt across Lahore and adjoining areas last month. The quake hit many areas, including Nankana Sahib, Kasur, and Sheikhpura, among others.
