The border security forces on Sunday arrested Raja Arshad, the main accused in Fahad Malik murder case, who is being brought to capital from the Torkham Border.

The spokesman of Islamabad police also confirmed the arrest of the main accused and said the border security forces arrested him at Torkham border while trying to escape to Afghanistan.

During the investigation, Arshad told the security forces that he had planned to move to the United Kingdom from Afghanistan.

The Interior Ministry had already cancelled his passport and placed him on the Exit Control List. Arshad would be brought to Islamabad today, the spokesman said.

The Islamabad Police on Saturday had also arrested Nauman Khokhar, another accused in the murder case of Barrister Fahad Malik.

Additional Sessions Judge Pervaizul Qadir Memon had directed the police to arrest the accused after his interim bail was rejected.

A British-Pakistani citizen, Fahad Malik, was killed when the accused allegedly opened fire on his car. The victim had reached the site near Shalimar Police Station to mediate a dispute between two parties involving Tariq Malik group, and Arshad and Khokhar.
