Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Mustafa Kamal on Saturday came down hard on the government for a lack of action against Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Altaf Hussain days after his controversial anti-Pakistan remarks earlier this week.

Addressing a press conference here, the former Karachi mayor asked the government what action had been taken against Hussain in five days since the provocative speech led to violent protests and attacks on media offices in Karachi.

Rangers personnel in Karachi took swift action against the MQM following the MQM founder’s speech on Monday, briefly detaining several party workers and sealing offices, including the MQM’s headquarters Nine-Zero. Law enforcers have so far also demolished several MQM offices since.

Kamal stressed that it was not the MQM’s offices or posters of its founder that had defamed the country but the MQM founder against whom, he said, no action had yet been taken.
