Govt committed to promoting trade, commerce: minister

Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq has said that provincial government under the dynamic leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif is committed to promoting trade and commerce with the active cooperation of private sector.

He stated this during a visit of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries on Saturday. Ex-MNA Hanif Abbasi, Punjab Industrial Estate Chairman Rizwan Khalid Butt, Rawalpindi Additional District Collector Arif Rahim, Punjab Industrial Estate CEO Col (R) Naveed Mushtaq, RCCI Acting President Saqib Rafique, Vice President Muhammad Aqil Obaid, Group Leaders Sheikh Shabir and Sohail Iltaf, SM Naseem, and trade representatives were present on the occasion.

Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq appreciated the contributions of RCCI for developing industrial estate and said that it had provided opportunities for investment to industrialists which would help in creating job opportunities.

He assured all possible cooperation for a complete development of Rawat Industrial Estate to mitigate difficulties to ensure. He further said that industrial development is vital for the economic wellbeing of country and Punjab government is trying its utmost to develop all industrial estates on modern lines.

Punjab Industrial Estate Chairman Rizwan Khalid Butt said that Rawat Industrial Estate is suitable for establishing small and medium sized industries. He said its importance had been further increased in the context of Pak-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

RCCI Acting President Saqib Rafique briefed about the future projects of Rawalpindi Chamber. Later, the minister along with chamber representatives visited Rawat Industrial Estate and examined the present and required development works.
