Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir has said the slogan “Pakistan Zindabad” is an outcome of numerous sacrifices rendered by our forefathers.

Addressing the Pakistan Zindabad Conference organised by the Pakistan Muslim League-N Labour Wing at Alhamara on Friday, he said it was the responsibility of PML-N workers to make people aware of conspiracies being carried out by certain elements to create hurdles in progress and development of the country.

He said 180 million people had elected Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and those who believed in a democracy must wait for the next general elections.

“Why certain people try to find shortcuts or back doors to come to power?” he questioned, and said people would decide in the next general election for whom they will vote.

The minister said one should ask the importance of freedom from people of Palestine and India-held Kashmir.

He said if a referendum could be carried out in eastern Sudan and southern Sudan then why not in Kashmir, adding that UN must carry out a referendum in Kashmir as per its resolutions.

Tahir said PM Sharif had highlighted the Kashmir issue in the best effective way and this thing disturbed India.

He said some people were upset on US $46 billion investment in Pakistan, adding that a huge revenue worth of billions of dollars would come in Pakistan every year with the completion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Indian agents and other elements were frightened from progress and development of the country.

Labour and Human Resources Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said billions of dollar revenue would be earned when ships from all over the world would stop at the Gwadar Port.

He said certain elements were afraid of positive outcomes of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which would make the PML-N leadership more popular among the masses.

He said China showed trust on the PML-N leadership and with the grace of Almighty Allah the work on the CPEC had started in the tenure of the PML-N government.

He said the country was moving towards progress and some elements following an agenda of the external lobby were creating hurdles in progress and prosperity of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, PML-N Leader Khawaja Imran Nazir said with the completion of energy projects, on which work was underway, electricity would be available in the country.

“The CPEC is a game changer for coming generations,” he added.

Parliamentary Secretary Rana Muhammad Arshad and others also spoke on the occasion.
