Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a plea of Engineers Forum about the construction of Kalabagh Dam.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Zamali heard the case in which the judge announced a reserved verdict on review appeal filed by the engineers.
The plea stated that government is delaying Kalabagh dam’s construction despite court’s order. The court disposed of the case saying that the construction is postponed due to technical grounds.
Earlier, Justice Gulzar remarked that the dam issue is being politicised with three provinces who are not favouring its construction.
CJP Jamali stated that the court will not interfere in policy matters as no one’s right is undermined whether the dam is constructed or not.
