Islamabad High Court (IHC) Judge Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb on Tuesday recused from hearing a petition challenging a ban imposed by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on programme ‘Live with Dr Shahid Masood’ for a period of 45 days.
“I received a letter to pass the order in favour of the petitioner, which is not acceptable to me at any cost so I decided to detach myself from this case,” the judge mentioned before recusing to hear the case.
The case was referred to the IHC chief justice for the fixation of the case to another bench.
The petition was moved in the IHC by ARY Media Communications (pvt) through its counsel Faisal Chaudhry.
