An additional sub-inspector of police has been booked for taking bribe from a mother for recovery of her abducted child.
Sources said that Sughran, mother of the kidnapped child has registered a case in anti-corruption police station Sahiwal against Farid Town police station ASI Shaukat Ali for taking bribe amounting to Rs 20000 from her in connection with recovery of her abducted son.
According to report, child of Sughran was kidnapped and Shaukat Ali ASI of police station Farid town demanded Rs 50,000 as bribe in connection with recovery of her son. She gave him Rs 20,000 and it was agreed between them that Sughran Bibi would pay him the remaining amount after the child is recovered.
The ASI did not recover the child despite taking bribe. Inquiry was held and the said ASI was found guilty of taking bribe.
On the report of Sughran Bibi Director Anti Corruption Sahiwal registered a case under section 161 TP against the ASI after the allegations of taking bribe were proved in the inquiry report.
The accused has not been arrested so for.
