Polling in PP-240 constituency of Taunsa Sharif started at 8:00am Thursday (today) and will continue till 5:00pm.
A total of 16 candidates including Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PMLN) Mumtaz Aziz Qaisrani and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed independent candidate Daud Sulemani are contesting the by-election.
The total number of registered voters is 150,410 whereas 128 polling stations have been established in the constituency.
The seat fell vacant after the disqualification of PML-N’s Shamoona Qaisrani.
PP-240 results were challenged by independent candidate Khawaja Daud Sulemani over irregularities and malpractices during 2013 elections.
