SHC calls task force on missing persons a ‘rubber stamp’

Expressing anger over absence of police and Rangers authorities during the hearing of missing persons case, the Sindh High Court (SHC) called the task force on missing persons a ‘rubber stamp’.

Directing Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and other security institutions to submit replies, the court adjourned the hearing till September 1.

The court also directed concerted efforts for the recovery of missing persons.

During the hearing, the government representative told the court that a task force for missing persons has been created over which the court called the status of the task force to that of a rubber stamp.

The court gave security institutions time to submit the replies by August 29 over the case of a missing person Zuhair Ali Zaidi who was taken into custody by men in civvies from Mobina Town on July 15.
