Fawad Khan added another feather to his hat as he won big at the Indian Film Festival in Melbourne.

The Kapoor & Sons actor received the Diversity Award at the fifth edition of the annual festival held to recognise excellence and achievement in Indian cinema.

The crowd cheered for the Khoobsurat star as he went on stage to receive the honour, making it difficult for him to deliver his acceptance speech. “Kuch Bol Sakta Hun Is Waqt? (Can I say something?),” asked Fawad.

Fawad looked dapper as usual as he sported a Zegna tuxedo.

Rishi Kapoor took the podium after Fawad to receive Kapoor And Sons Best Film award.

Fawad presented the Best Actress award to Sonam Kapoor for her film Neerja later in the night.

Fawad also bumped into singer Sara Haider at the awards who was thankful to see a familiar face in the sea of people. “The only other Pakistani on stage! At this point in my journey, I’m actually quite homesick and It was nice to see one familiar face<3 Thank you for being there :),” she wrote.

Fawad Khan feels that he is lucky to be a part of Bollywood but wants to improve his dancing skills.

“I have been very lucky for what I have been offered so far. My boundaries are limited to a number of films that are offered to me and I am pretty open and receptive to material that is offered to me,” Fawad said.

“I swear to god I wish I could dance or sing… I watch these people and I wish I could move like them. But I am having a great time here,” he added.

“I think I’m very lucky as far as whatever I’ve been offered and I thinkKapoor and Sons I’m very lucky to be a part of.”

“I don’t have a 5-year plan and my boundaries are to consider the films that have been offered to me. So I’m pretty open, pretty receptive,” said the actor.

Fawad is set to hold a masterclass before the screening of his film Kapoor & Sons along with the director Shakun Batra. Fawad alongside Richa Chadha, Radhika Apte and filmmaker Leena Yadav inaugurated the festival on August 11 before the screening of the opening film Parched.

The festival will run for two weeks until August 21 and has lined up over 50 films in 17 languages.

His next Bollywood release is Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in which he has an extended cameo, and will be seen alongside Pakistani actor Imran Abbas and B-Town stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.

The film is set to release October 28th.
