Pakistan vows to pursue bilateral cooperation with Argentine

National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan is determined to pursue a broad-based bilateral cooperation with Argentine in expansion of economic relations.

He added that sustained cooperation in agriculture is central to achieving food security and sustainable development. He was speaking to Ivan Ivanissevich, Ambassador of Argentine to Pakistan, who called on him at Parliament House on Thursday.

Ghous Bux Khan Mahar, convener of Pak- Argentine Friendship Group was also present on the occasion.

The NA Speaker asserted that Parliamentary engagement and economic cooperation will give a renewed strength to the relations between Pakistan and Argentine. In addition to strengthening Parliamentary ties, he underlined the need for a comprehensive framework to cement people to people contacts.

Sadiq said that the present government has provided a highly conducive environment for foreign investors. He further added that current government is committed to facilitate foreign investors.

The speaker highlighted that Pakistan’s political and military leadership’s commitment to root out terrorism in all its forms and manifestations is unflinching.  He outlined that Pakistan’s counter-terrorism strategy is guided by a jointly formulated National Action Plan which ensures across the board action against terrorism.

The Argentine ambassador highly acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices and endeavors for global peace and security. He remarked that Pakistan has played a frontline role against the scourge of global terrorism. He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating terrorism from the country.

Ivanissevich further remarked that Argentine attaches immense importance to its relations with Pakistan. He highlighted that Parliamentary cooperation and exchange of delegations is central to promoting sustained engagement between the two countries.
