Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawala has directed the officers of the department to speed up drive against fancy number plates and tinted glasses, and no leniency should be shown against violators no matter how much influential they may be.
The minister said this while presiding over a meeting in his office on Wednesday. He said all officers were bound to achieve their tax recovery target at the earliest and take all measures to achieve the target.
The minister said rotation policy for officers’ posting should be implemented in the department to eradicate corruption. He further directed to provide more facilities to the people.
Chawala also warned the people to get their vehicles registered. In case an unregistered vehicle is impounded, a case will be registered against the drivers/owners as well, he added.
