The Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) has purchased reading meters from a factory of Lahore which are 30 to 40 per cent more speedy that other meters.
A lineman of Sepco Khairpur while talking to this agency said that the SEPCO contracted with a factory of Lahore with the condition to supply 30 to 40 per cent fast meters. The supply of such white meters has reached and now they are being installing just to cover the line losses, he added.
Meanwhile, Sindhi Speakers Forum Chairman Ghaffar Mahar, Anjuman Tajran Khairpur and other organisations strongly condemned the SEPCO and said it committing fraud with franchised customers of Sindh province. They demanded from the Supreme Court, NAB and FIA to probe the matter and take action the SEPCO authority and those who are involved in this void contract.
