Bio metric attendance to be introduced for students: minister

Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said on Wednesday that it was right time to introduce biometric system for the attendance of students of secondary and higher secondary classes.

The minister said this while presiding over a meeting of heads of various sectors of education department in Tughlaq House, said a statement. Secretary Education Mumtaz Ali Shah, Special Secretary Zakir Hussain Shah, DG Colleges, DG private schools, director colleges, officials of reform support unit and officials of other components attended the meeting as well.

The education minister stressed upon the officers of education department to enhance enrollment in schools, especially of girl students and to arrest the dropout rate of the children from schools.

He directed them to make a comprehensive plan for adult learning with the focus on skill development while action should be taken against unregistered private schools. He further directed to get all educational institutions vacated from illegal occupants and mobilise the communities and involve them to increase enrollment in schools.
