Virat Kohli has been gaining high-profile admirers for his rich vein of form recently. After leaving the world in his awe with some swashbuckling innings in the recent T20 season, Kohli returned to the longest format of the game with a double hundred against the West Indies in Antigua.
Kohli – who has been vocal about his ‘boring’ training regimes – is considered one of the fittest athletes in the game, and his fabulous fitness levels have certainly played a part in his rise over the past year. For budding cricketers across the world, there is no better role model than Virat Kohli right now and that’s also being acknowledged in India’s rival country, Pakistan.
Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar’s son – Hasan Dar. an aspiring cricketer – is a big fan of Virat Kohli and through his father, who is among the team of umpires officiating in the ongoing Test series between India and West Indies, Hasan sent a video to his idol Kohli.
The Indian Test captain responded by sending a motivational message to Aleem Dar’s son, advising him to keep working hard on his cricket, and keep faith in his dream. Watch the video where Kohli utters some heart-warming words for the young Hasan.
Kohli also promised to send Hasan an autographed bat and invited him to meet him next time his father officiates an Indian game.
The Kohli-led Indian cricket team will return to the action on Saturday for the second Test, with an aim to register yet another win and make the four-match series safe. Once again, Kohli will hold the key for the visitors as he will attempt to build on his 200 in the first Test.
