LSE shows remarkable recovery

LAHORE: The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE), marked by a terrific recovery in volume, remained bullish on Wednesday.
Cement, banking and fertiliser sectors remained the eye catchers. The LSE 25-shares index added 33.32 points to close at 3,234.19 against its opening at 3,200.87 levels. Volume of the market remarkably increased by 1.71 million shares, and stayed at four million shares.
Out of 116 active scrips, 48 increased, 15 declined and 53 showed stagnancy.
Lafarge Pakistan Cement was the leader in terms of volume, followed by Silk Bank. Lafrage Pakistan Cement had a turnover of 0.85 million shares and added Rs 0.19 to close at Rs 3.01 against its opening at Rs 2.82, while Silk Bank with a turnover of 0.5 million shares declined Rs 0.07 to close at Rs 2.85 against its opening at Rs 2.92.
Millat Tractors was the major gainer, as it added Rs 22.35 to close at Rs 469.35 against its opening at Rs 447. Pakistan Petroleum added Rs 4.69 to close at Rs 185.52 against its opening at Rs 180.83.
First Capital Equities suffered major loses as it declined Rs 6.41 to close at Rs 121.70 against its opening at Rs 128.11.
