Rangers to boost up Karachi Operation after two soldiers’ death

In the wake of the attack on Pak army’s vehicle on Tuesday, authorities have decided to speed up Karachi Operation.

Security sources stated that more raids would be conducted in different areas of the city to arrest culprits involved in anti-state activities. The increased number of raids will be conducted in slums on the outskirts of city.

The sources also revealed that the operation would continue till the last terrorist was apprehended while facilitators would also be surrounded till the end. Funeral prayers of two martyred army men were offered on Wednesday.

Two soldiers including Lance Naik Razzaq and Sepoy Khadim Hussain were shot dead on Tuesday when motorcycle gunmen opened fire on their pick-up truck in the southern city of Karachi.

Both were shot in the head and face, Dr Kaleem Shaikh of Jinnah Post Graduate Medical College said.

Sindh police have formed a special team to probe the incident. According to preliminary investigation, no bullet shells were recovered from the crime scene as it was suspected that the attackers might have used a bag while firing 9mm pistols to leave no trace behind.

Army spokesperson stated that victim Razzaq belonged to Naushehro Feroze and Khadim Hussain was from Dadu.

On the other hand, the Sindh home ministry has announced Rs 5 million reward for anyone who will provide information about the terrorists involved in the attack.

Meanwhile, Lance Naik Razzaq was buried in Naushero Feroz and Sepoy Khadim Hussain in Dadu with full military honour after their funeral prayer. The Namaz-e-Janazas of the two army personnel were attended by a large number of people of the area and their friends and relatives.
