NAB arrests KP DFO in illegal assets case

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday arrested Khyber Pakhhtunkhwa (KP) Haripur Forest Department District Forest Officer (DFO) Tauheed-ul-Haq allegedly involved in accumulation of illegal assets worth Rs 28.87 million.

As per details, the matter was brought into the notice of KP NAB.

The authority, taking cognisance of the matter, ordered an inquiry to ascertain the real facts and collect requisite evidence regarding moveable and immoveable properties owned, controlled and possessed by the accused persons in their name and in the name of their dependents.

During the course of inquiry, it revealed that the accused DFO Tauheed-ul-Haq remained posted on different posts in forest department i.e. Range Forest Officer of Kohistan, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Swat, United Nations Development Programme Project Dir, SDFO of Mohmand Agency, Bannu, Malakand, DFO Kohistan and Haripur. During his tenure in forest department, the accused piled assets worth millions of rupees in his name and in the name of his dependent.

An inquiry is being actively pursued and the accused will be presented in the Accountability Court for obtaining his physical remand.
