Two killed in violence incidents, three extortionists arrested

At least two people were killed and five others injured in separate incidents of violence in different localities of the metropolis on Sunday. The police also arrested three extortionists from Badia Town.

Police said that unidentified armed motorcyclists sprayed with bullets a man present outside his residence in Korangi 5-C locality of the city killing him on the spot and fled the scene. The deceased later identified as Faisal was stated to be an activist of a political party.

Meanwhile, an armed accused tried to loot a citizen at gunpoint in Duha. On resistance, he opened straight fire killing the man identified as Javed. People present near the scene of the crime held the murderer and handed him over to police after giving him a sound thrashing.

SP Landhi Afnan Ameen said that armed robbers were engaged in looting vehicles near an office of a political party in Korangi No 5 when the citizens tried to capture the robbers upon which they opened fire injuring five people including Saeed, Danish, Haider Ali, Bilal and Shahid. The injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, police arrested three extortionists in a raid in Baldia Town on Sunday. According to the SSP, the extortionists had demanded Rs 0.5 million from a trader. They wrote a letter to him and sent bullets packed in it warning to kill him if he did not pay the money.
