The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday dismissed an application filed by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Rauf Siddiqui seeking urgent hearing of his bail plea in terrorists’ treatment case.
The MQM leader filed an application in the SHC seeking hearing of his bail plea on urgent bases but the court dismissed his application.
Siddiqui had filed bail application on Wednesday after his interim bail was cancelled by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).
Siddiqui's counsel submitted the interim bail of his client was rejected on the basis of joint investigation team's report which cannot be considered as testimony in the case. He requested the court to grant bail to his client.
Siddiqui is facing charges of asking Dr Asim Hussain to treat militants belonging to the MQM at two branches of his Ziauddin Hospital. Earlier on Thursday, the SHC had rejected the bail of Pak Sarzameen Party's Anees Qaimkhani, co-accused in the case, and asked him to approach the trial court.
