Chinese delegation calls on acting NA speaker

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi said that Pakistan highly values its relations with China and desires to further solidify its deep-rooted strategic partnership and cooperation for mutual benefit of both the countries.

He said that Pakistan appreciates the strong support and selfless assistance from the Chinese government and people for its economic and social development.

He expressed these views while talking to a high level Chinese delegation from Xinjian Province headed by Young Yan Min at Parliament House on Friday.

Appreciating the Chinese leadership’s commitment for implementation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC), the deputy speaker said that this project will prove to be a game changer and it would create massive economic activities in the region resulting in progress and prosperity for the people of both the countries. He said that pragmatic cooperation between both the countries could bring more tangible benefits to Pakistan and China.

Abbasi thanked the Chinese government for organising capacity building programme for the members of the Pakistan’s Parliament and assistance to set up Solar Power Project at Parliament House.

He said, “The Solar Power Project gifted by the Chinese government to the Parliament of Pakistan is a symbol of friendship between the two countries.”

He also appreciated the plan for promoting cooperation and partnership between Xinjian Province and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) in various fields, installation of solar lamps in Hazara Division and timely assistance to overcome the energy shortage in Pakistan.

The head of Chinese delegation thanked the deputy speaker and said the CPEC project is a win-win opportunity for the both the countries. Min assured the deputy speaker of Chinese commitment for its early completion.

While apprising Abbasi regarding engagements of his delegation, he said that the delegation is visiting the northern areas of Pakistan to observe various under progress projects of CEPC in GB.
