To express solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren facing the atrocities of the Indian forces in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), people of South Punjab marked Black Day on Wednesday.
Thousands of people attended more than 40 rallies taken out in various cities of Southern Punjab including Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Vehari, Sadiqbad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Bhakkar, Rajanpur, Kot Addu and Lodhran. Three rallies were organised by Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) and Jamiat Ahle-Hadith in Multan.
Special prayers were offered for the martyred Kashmiris and liberation of Kashmir in the mosques after Zuhr prayers.
The speakers highlighted the Indian atrocities in IOK in the rallies .They appealed to human rights organisations to take notice of the human rights violations in IOK. Participants of the rallies chanted slogans against India and burnt the Indian flags. Government and semi government employees wore black armbands during duty hours and hoisted black flags atop of their offices.
Govt offices observe Black Day:
Meanwhile, to express solidarity with the people of Indian Held Kashmir (IHK), officials of the provincial government departments also observed Black Day on Wednesday.
All government officials wore black armbands while performing their duties to express political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris struggling for their independence from India.
At some government departments, corner meetings were held where speakers vehemently condemned Indian forces’ brutalities on innocent Kashmiris. They urged international community to take notice of the grave human rights violations taking place in the IHK.
Special prayers were also offered in all city mosques for the martyrs of Kashmir.
