‘Black day’ observed in hospitals against Indian army’s excesses in Kashmir

Doctors, paramedical staff and nurses of public sector hospitals on Wednesday observed a ‘black day’ by wearing black armbands to express solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren and record protest against grave human rights violations and genocide of civilians in the Indian-occupied Kashmir.

The black day was observed in Civil Hospital Karachi, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, National Institute of Child Health and other hospitals of Sindh province where doctors, paramedical staff and nurses performed their duties by wearing black armbands to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.

The federal government has already directed ministries and provincial governments to observe the black day across the country to express solidarity with the Kashmiris and lodge protest against the Indian army’s atrocities.

To express solidarity with the Kashmiris, the Civil Hospital Karachi administration organised a gathering outside the Administrative Block where doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and others largely participated to the show solidarity with the Kashmiris.

Sindh Doctor’s Welfare Association (SDWA) President Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Memon, while talking to PPI, said that doctors’ community had also observed the black day across the Sindh province.

Central Leader of All Sindh People’s Paramedical Staff Welfare Association Liaquat Mastoi said that paramedical staff also condemned the killing of innocent Kashmiris in the Occupied Kashmir by the Indian occupation armed forces. He said the Kashmir issue must be resolved as per United Nations’ resolutions.

The call to observe the black day on July 20 was made by Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif after tension in the occupied valley following the recent murders of Kashmiri freedom fighters.
