Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that flood situation is under control and all the dykes are strong enough to sustain flow of water.

Noor Shah informed them that six points were vulnerable at the moment which included Ruk Spur, Nusrat Spur, Moria Loop Bund, Abad Mangli Bund and Hakran Bund which were being closely monitored. The CM said he had visited Shank Bund, Guddu Barrange and other dykes before coming here and he was satisfied with the situation of dykes.

He said it was the primary job of river Indus authority to visit the areas ahead of flood alerts but it was being carried out by the Sindh government as they were not cooperating. The CM said they were fighting the case of seeking rights of Sindh from the Center on every available forum and hoped they would be successful in this move. The CM said they were prepared to face any emergency situation due to flood or monsoon rains.

Murad Ali Shah said that in 2010 more than 11 lac cusecs flood water had passed down from this area, hence they had acquired lot of experience in tackling flood situation. He revealed that two new sensitive points had emerged here which too were being vigorously monitored.
