United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has expressed concern over the deteriorating situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir
A spokesman for the UN Chief in a regular news briefing in New York said Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon is ready to mediate peace talks amid heightening tensions between India and Pakistan.
The spokesman, responding to a question said UN chief had always encouraged direct talks between India and Pakistan for the resolution of their outstanding issues.
The spokesman said UN chief regretted the loss of lives in the clashes between protesters and security forces in Indian Occupied Kashmir and called for “maximum restraint.”
