Lahore High Court (CJ LHC) Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah on Wednesday said that judges should take bold decisions or go home.
He was addressing participants of a moot at the judicial academy.
CJ Shah said that judges should tell him their problems as his doors are open for them all the time. He said that there were problems in the system but they would have to analyse the situation themselves.
He also added that vacant seats in different districts of Punjab would be filled soon and misbehavior with female judges would not be tolerated.
Separately, CJ Shah has dispatched a letter to all lower courts in the province urging them for financial assistance to Edhi Foundation and left the decision to their discretion.
In a letter, the chief justice underlined that a sessions’ judge can donate Rs 5,000, additional sessions judge Rs 3,500 and civil judge Rs 2000.
Similarly court employees can donate Rs 500 each. He said judges and employees can donate the amount by July 15.
He, however, stated that donating amount for the Edhi Foundation is completely left to the discretion of employees.
The founder of Pakistan’s largest welfare organisation, Abdul Sattar Edhi, passed away on July 8 at the age of 92 as tributes swiftly poured in for the humble man almost unanimously revered as a national hero.
Motivated by a spiritual quest for justice, over the years Edhi and his team created maternity wards, morgues, orphanages, shelters, and homes for the elderly, picking up where limited government-run services fell short.
The government announced a state funeral and day of national mourning in honour of the man who owned just two sets of clothes, but whose work uplifting the nation’s destitute and orphans cemented his place in the hearts of masses.
