PPMA to provide medicines to poor patients

Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) Chairman Khawaja Shahzeb Akram said the pharmaceutical industry would provide the Punjab government medicines for distribution to poor patients.
Shahzeb was leading a fifty member delegation in a meeting with the Punjab health secretary. Shahzeb said, “We will continue to support the health department”. He also briefed the Punjab health secretary on the problems faced by the Pharmaceutical Industry with regards to pending payments by the Punjab Government.
Secretary Health assured the delegation that all pending dues would be paid forthwith and that the Punjab government would continue to purchase pharmaceuticals from the local industry.
Special Secretary Waseem Mukhtar, Additional Secretary Zeerak Mirza, D.G Health Dr. Attiq, Former Chairman PPMA Mian Asas Shuja- ur- Rehman, Muhammad Zak-Ur-Rehman, Amjad Ali Jawa, Khawaja Muhammad Akram, Nasir Chaudhary, Regional Chairman Mansoor Dilawer and other senior officials of health department attended the meeting.
